New World Order Employment Applications #006: KITA ST. CYR

18 11 2011

Introducing the next candidate to fill out SUGAR -N- THUNDER’s New World Order Employment Application: KITA ST. CYR!

The lovely Miss Kita St. Cyr is the “Caramel Cutie with the Booty,” a standout New York burlesque performer who also designs fabulous costumes and co-produces shows! Known around town (and all over the worldwide web!) for her classy, sassy performances and stunning pinup shots, Kita is always fierce and filled with inspiration. She combines her passion for dance, fashion, and all things retro with her troupe The Rhinestone Follies, while reppin’ Coney Island (she recently competed in the 2012 Miss Coney Island pageant!), and performing in shows like Wasabassco Burlesque, Psychobilly Luau, and the New York Burlesque Festival.

Who I am & what I do:

I’m a costumer/burlesque performer – basically I shimmy, shake and sparkle.

Projects you should know about:

I produce a pretty badass show known as Rhinestone Follies: The Sparkliest Show on Earth. It’s part burlesque, part sideshow, all awesome. Check it out!

The Survey:

1. What defines awesomeness to you? Fearlessness. When art is made with 100% commitment to a single vision no matter how whimsical or ridiculous. When there’s no room for compromise. That’s honest, unwavering creativity. It’s pure and awesome.

2. Have you ever had a near-death experience? No lie, I got hit by a bus trying to bike to work one day! My bike took most of the impact, but I lost a shoe and got a little scratched up and bloodied. I still went to work (once I found my shoe).

3. If you could be absolute ruler of the world for a day, what’s the first thing you’d do? Bouncy castles for everyone. I’m having a hard time imagining a better solution for life’s problems. Also, cotton candy for breakfast.

4. What’s your guilty pleasure? Degrassi. It goes there.

5. What do you know now that you wish you knew as a teen/kid? Being a doormat is not the same thing as being nice. Not everyone has to be your friend.

6. What’s the most awesome concert you’ve ever been to, and why? The first time I saw Dir en Grey at the Nokia Theatre. It was like all my little j-rock dreams had finally come true and everyone in that room was united in their longtime love of art, rock, and probably years of nerdery.

7. Tell us a quote/phrase/lyric that sums you up. “Unicorns don’t care if you believe in them any more than you care if they believe in you.”

8. What’s the worst film/best film you’ve seen? Worst: I REALLY wanted to like it because I expected it to be awful in a funny, self-aware kind of way, but Twilight was just awful. Best: Ziegfeld Follies! It’s over-the-top opulence defined! And the cast! Perfection.

9. If I was in a freak show I’d be…
a. contortionist
b. sword swallower
c. fire-eater – I really am learning how to eat and breathe fire!
d. where I belong, duh.

10. It’s 2011, for f@&*(!’s sake. Where’s my ___?
a. flying car
b. 10-foot microwave
c. sex robot – He’s coming to your tooowwwnnn
d. hoverboard
e. colony on mars
f. vibrating calculator

*BONUS* What cartoon or TV show do you wish you could put back on air? Popples. I’d put it on The Hub in between Jem and My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic (shoutout to all my bronies!)

*SUPER BONUS* Make up a name for a new sex act/position. Go! The triple axle push pop. It would only be physically possible in the aforementioned bouncy castle.

Kita, thanks for being AWESOME!

And look out for future New World Order Employment Applications rolling out SOON…
